We know that we’re not the only spraying contractor out there. Obviously we think that you should choose us but we know that just telling you that isn’t actually very helpful. So, we’ve put together a list of 10 things that you should be looking for when choosing someone to help with your on site spraying requirements.
One: Experience
It probably goes without saying that you should be looking for a contractor with the experience you need to deliver an excellent finish on time and budget.
We have been established for over 20 years which means extensive experience of onsite spray painting which includes shop fronts, intumescent spraying, ceiling, cladding, curtain walls, windows, doors, lift frames… We could keep going but you can find out more about the different services we offer here.
Two: Surveys
Your spraying contractor should offer a site survey to make sure that the finer details of your specific project are taken into account. This should pick up on the details such as the existing condition of your surface, any access restrictions and what preparation will be required to protect the surrounding areas from overspray.
Sprayzone are pleased to offer both a free quote and a free survey to help with your decision making process.
Three: Areas covered
Your spraying contractor needs to be available in your local area as the majority of spraying work needs to be carried out on site. This offers you a choice of local contractors or those who cover a larger area.
Sprayzone provide on site spray painting throughout the UK and into Europe when required.
Four: Accreditations
As with any on site building maintenance or improvement work, it is important to make sure that your spraying contractor has the necessary accreditations and paperwork. For starters, we recommend that your contractor is Safe Contractor Approved and fully insured for the work they will be carrying out.
Our accreditations include:
- CSCS
- Constructionline
- CITB
- CITB SMSTS
- Safe Contractor Approved
- Iosh
- Alcumus SafeContractor
- PASMA
- IPAF
- SSIP
Five: Values
Whilst it is important to find a supplier who can deliver the work required to a high standard and within time and budget constraints, it is also important to choose a contractor whose values are aligned with your own business objectives. If supporting local businesses is your primary aim, then choosing a local business makes sense. Alternatively if you are committed to minimising your impact on the environment then a contractor who is also doing their bit towards sustainable business practices may be your best fit.
Sprayzone’s values include a commitment to excellent customer service and to the environment through our desire to reduce our impact on the world around us.
Six: Price
Budget is always crucial when choosing a supplier. You may find a range in the quotes that you receive and the first thing to do is to check that these quotes are like-for-like. Some quotes may include absolutely everything whereas others have lots of addons to be factored in. As with any purchase, the cheapest price isn’t necessarily the best but here at Sprayzone we are committed to providing a competitively priced service. This means we offer a price promise guarantee that states we will not only match any like-for-like quote but we will endeavour to better it by at least 2.5%. You can find out more here.
Seven: Manufacturer’s Warranty
A good spraying contractor will be able to offer you a manufacturer’s warranty against any defects in the end product used. Look for spraying contractors who are accredited by the coating manufacturers as the paint must be correctly applied in order for the manufacturer’s warranty to be valid.
We are approved applicators for many of the leading high performance coatings including:
- Cromadex
- Tor Coatings
- Selemix
- Rust-oleum
- Akzo-Nobel
It is also important to check the trading history for anyone offering you a warranty: these warranties are only valid whilst the business is still going. We’re proud to have been continuously trading for over 20 years and have many exciting plans for growth and improvements in the future too.
Eight: Reviews and testimonials
You don’t need to accept the word of the spraying contractor that they are reliable, experienced and skilled: you can also look at reviews and ask for testimonials.
We are proud to have a 5* rating on Google reviews and have included some words of positive feedback throughout our website that we have received from past clients. At the time of writing this, our most recent Google review says: “Fantastic service, really go out of their way to help. Very professional company, highly recommended.”
Thanks Rob!

We have also included a range of case studies on our website to provide examples of work carried out in the past.
Nine: Customer service
It’s not just when they’re on site spraying that you will have contact with your spraying contractor. From initial enquiry to quotes and surveys through to booking in dates and checking that the finish is up to standard, you will have plenty of contact with your chosen contractor. Choosing a spraying contractor with a team ready to speak to you is important.
We work hard to be the best at what we do and take pride in offering an excellent standard of service to all our customers. We are always happy to provide free technical advice as well as the free surveys and quotes that you will need.
Ten: Technical expertise
Finally, technical expertise is necessary to deliver the quality of spraying that you require.
Our team of experienced sprayers are backed up by the office team whose knowledge of spray applied paint systems is unrivalled within our industry. We can offer specification advice and are happy to share our technical knowledge on coatings with you.
