Profile: Working from the ground up in the spray coating industry, from preparation and masking projects, I have progressed to Chargehand – completely managing on-site spray coating projects. I have completed intensive training for spray coating of ceilings, shopfronts and cladding.
Q: What problems do you have to overcome whilst carrying out spray coating work?
A: We generally work evenings and weekends. This allows me to complete spraying projects more efficiently and as there are usually less trades on site, it also means minimal disruption to the client.
Q: How do you ensure that other surfaces are protected from the spray application?
A: A lot of time on site is spent masking and protecting adjacent surfaces. Even before I get the spray gun out I have to make sure that our work area is completely sealed. At the end of the shift all the masking materials are taken down and, along with any other waste materials, are taken back to head office, for recycling and disposal.
Q: What do you enjoy most about your work?
A: The work is generally very varied and it can be anywhere in the UK, which I like. I enjoy having a new challenge and particularly like transforming a tired looking building into something more modern and up to date.
Q: How do you ensure the quality of each project?
A: Sprayzone are keen that I receive the most up to date training in all aspects of my job, whether it be health & safety or a new product. I am therefore confident in the work that I produce and am happy for our quality supervisor to sign off each of my projects before handover to the client. We're all very proud of the work we produce and can therefore offer a 5 year warranty on all our projects.

Re-spray, don’t clean!
Although cleaning architectural surfaces may seem like a more cost-effective solution at first, there are many factors to consider that will affect the overall result.
Whether indoors or out – cleaning means that the dirt that is discolouring the surface is diluted and spread around instead of removed. The overall result will not give you the desired finish of new tiles or cladding and time and budget could be wasted.
Ceiling tiles will absorb water and cleaning fluids as well as the dirt as it is emulsified which will create an inconsistent finish and affect the acoustics of the room.
Spray coating will create a ‘like-new’ finish whilst increasing the life span of architectural surfaces. Avoid delays on renovation projects
Renovation projects are renowned for running over their completion date and generally are a bit of a rocky process. Structural issues often arise and before you know it, the whole project is pushed back a week or two.

This ensures any defects are quickly identified and remedial works completed prior to hand over to the client.
Brushzone - Cut Edge Corrosion Project

As part of Brushzones portfolio of brush applied services, we have recently completed the cut edge corrosion treatment to the roofing panels of a large distribution centre in Rotherham.
The work was essential to extend the life cycle of the building and comes with a 10 year manufacturers warranty.
